Life in San Fernando.

Mary Luz, one of the few Believers and our closest neighbor/friend making dinner over her mud stove.
This is Jimena's room in our house in San Fernando. She's holding the teddy bear. We painted our walls the first week we were there.  Later on, she added the pink flowers. It makes me happy that it makes her happy. After we'd been there about six weeks, she got a surprise visit from her mom and younger sister. Jimena has never lived away from home before. I think that the time we have been back in Santa Cruz has been very good for her.

I believe our kitchen is the only one in San Fernando that has a real kitchen sink... and even running water! Now our floor is concrete. It was dirt for more than a month after we arrived. We will eventually get counters to go next to the sink.

Our house...
Our church.  Our house is under the same roof, behind that middle wall.

Not the best picture of me in the world, ha ha... but this is the main road  that goes by our house/the church. There are only 3 main roads through the town of San Fernando. The town is kind of rectangle-shaped. This photo was taken at one of the far corners of the town. The river is a 5 minute walk from our house. But... no mom, it will not swell so much and come up to our house... it's a walk through some woods to get to the river.
Jimena and our neighbor boys are taking the scales off the piranhas that they caught. They pulled about 20 out in about an hour. I got one... I don't think fishing is my gift.  After they finished scaling the fish, we all went swimming... and splashed alot to keep the piranha and crocodiles/alligators at bay.

  1. I'll be in Santa Cruz until Tuesday September 7th, then we will fly back to San Fernando until December, I believe... until then I will try to post a few more times. Thank you so much friends for being connected and praying for the details of this ministry. We are a team, to Glorify God in San Fernando! Discipling believers and reaching others for Christ! We are in this together.
    Thank you!
