March 16, 2011 Update

"Things are going really well",

Katie exclaimed to me over the radio today. She usually sounds happy but today despite the fact that her voice was growing softer because of the connection, I could note the extra bit of refreshment and joy.

Some of the news to pass on is as follows:

• She and her new roommate are communicating well and enjoying each other. What a praise and reason to celebrate! 
• God is moving in San Fernando and Katie can feel a strong sense of the power of your prayers there. She mentioned that many of the women seem to waking up to a desire to know more about Christ. Presently, there are discipleship meetings on Mondays and Fridays in the afternoon to begin sharing about faith. 
• On Wednesday afternoons, she is starting a meeting with one lady who is interested in learning more about God. Katie plans to begin with creation and then move towards the salvation message. She has well-founded hopes that more people will be there next week.
• On Wed/Thurs./Fri, Katie will be found teaching art, Bible and English in the schools there.
• Along with all the above, she continues teaching in the church on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. 

Pray for Katie to be filled with wisdom as she seeks to disciple, teach, and reach San Fernando with the Gospel.
